《Love Story》Arthur Hiller, 1970
年輕戀人，一往情深。半世紀過去，照片或許褪色但情不老。
階級差異，患病離世…今時今日氾濫地出現的韓劇情節，還有經常聽到Francis Lai的配樂，種種今天看來刻板的愛情故事元素，在七十年代的一套美國電影面世時，打動人心。
導演Arthur Hiller早期較多執導電視劇和喜劇電影，Erich Segal的原著小說，雖暢銷但也並非成功的愛情作品。《Love Story》之所以成功改編，成為經典，並獲得七項奧斯卡獎提名，在於電影，把真愛構建在生活中，並非死亡。如此真實，所以迷茫。

「愛到深處無怨尤。」 - You put up a glass wall to keep from getting hurt, but it also keeps you from getting touched.
「你築起一道玻璃牆以防受傷，但也令人可望而不可及。」 - It’s like falling off a cliff in slow motion, only after a while, you wish you’d hit the ground. I did, when I met you. What a falling off was there.

男主角Oliver驕傲堅強，女主角Jennifer傲慢溫柔，如麵粉和酵母，揉出難以言喻的化學作用。尤其是二人的鬥嘴情節，歡樂又溫馨，令人回想年輕的時候，說話真誠而沒有過濾。主演的Ryan O’Neal和Ali MacGraw也坦承，戲中互生情愫。
101分鐘的電影，沒有任何冗長拖曳，一切自然而沒有過分渲染。最快樂的時刻，是二人努力生活，熬過窮困的日子。最悲傷的時刻，是得知Jennifer即將離世，Oliver站在玻璃櫥窗，看著“Paris”的廣告標語，憂傷地想起，Jennifer短暫的一生，卻為了自己，放棄前往巴黎進修音樂的機會，但Jennifer告訴Oliver，別管巴黎和音樂，我只需要你。
什麼是真愛？現實的關係中，說愛或許沉重。在此，獻上Jennifer的婚姻誓詞，願真愛永不磨滅：

Think, in mountain higher, the angels would press on us, and aspire to drop some golden orb of perfect song into our deep, dear silence. Let’s us stay rather on earth, beloved, where the unfit, contrarious moods of men, recoil away, and isolate pure spirits, and permit a place to stand and love in for a day, with darkness and the death-hour rounding it.
